About SALT
The Society of Anglican and Lutheran Theologians (SALT) is an informal network of scholars and pastors committed to ongoing theological inquiry in the context of these two denominational families. SALT was formed in the late 1990’s as a result of meetings of the Conference of Anglican Theologians with several Lutheran colleagues to discuss issues around the proposed Concordat and then to help work on the draft of “Called to Common Mission,” ultimately adopted by both denominations.
Most of our 250 members teach and/or pastor in seminaries, colleges, or churches; others are active in SALT to remain connected to colleagues in their own denominational cultures. We welcome other interested persons.
Our annual meeting is held just prior to the AAR/SBL meeting.
